My Offerings
My compassionate, person-centred approach blends Art Therapy and Talk Therapy Approaches (Internal Family Systems & Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), along with mindfulness and body-based awareness to support the complex, and sometimes conflicting, emotions that come with being human. Grounded in a background in Neuroscience, my approach recognizes the powerful connection between the brain and body. I deeply believe in your innate capacity to heal and grow, and always honour that you are the expert in your own life.
I work with adults navigating grief, life transitions, self-esteem/identity, trauma, and anxiety and depression. I offer in-person sessions in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and online sessions across Canada (excluding Quebec).
Phone or Video Consultation
Free - 15 minutes
Wondering if Art Therapy or counselling with me is the right fit for you?
I offer a free 15-minute phone or video consultation as a chance for us to connect. Together, we can explore what's bringing you here, answer any questions you may have, and see whether working together feels like a good fit. There's no pressure or commitment on this call, just an opportunity to learn more about my approach and each other.
Individual Counselling (In-Person or Virtual)
$155 - 60 minutes
In individual therapy, I offer a grounded, supportive space to slow down and get curious - at your pace, we can hold your experiences with compassion and explore the support you’re needing. Whether you want to express yourself through words, art-making, or both, we can honour all your parts and the complexities of being human.
Our work is collaborative and flexible, always honouring that you are the expert in your own life. I work with adults to support grief, life transitions, identity and self-esteem, trauma, and anxiety and depression.

The Renewal Series is a seasonal reset gathering — an intentional space to pause, breathe, reconnect, and move through the changing seasons in community.
Autumn invites us to reflect, find gratitude, and harvest what we’ve grown throughout the year. As the days grow shorter and nature begins to turn inward, we’re invited to do the same — slowing down enough to notice what this season has brought us, what we’ve cultivated, and what we’re ready to carry forward.
Life moves quickly. Seasons shift, and sometimes we forget to pause. It’s in these moments of stillness, reflection, and connection that we can reconnect with ourselves and tend to what needs care.
This afternoon retreat offers space to move gently, reflect intentionally, create with your hands, and welcome the energy of autumn.
Come as you are. Leave feeling grounded, connected, and renewed.

Next Session: AUGUST SESSION CANCELLED FOR SUMMER BREAK - GROUP RETURNS SEPTEMBER 26, 2026
Join me for a monthly art therapy group focused on using creativity as a tool for grounding, emotional expression, clarity, and self-connection. This group invites participants to explore their inner experiences in a gentle, accessible way - no art experience, or diagnosis, is required - only curiosity and openness.
Together we will:
Use guided art-making to explore emotions, sensations, and patterns connected to disordered eating and body image
Practice grounding and regulation tools through creative and somatic exercises, such as bilateral scribbling, journaling, and reflective art prompts
Build self-compassion and deepen understanding of different parts of ourselves in a supportive group space
I work from a person-centered approach, guiding individuals and groups in ways that feel meaningful and supportive. In these workshops, you can expect to feel more connected to yourself, gain new insights and coping tools, and discover ways of expressing and processing emotions beyond words.
This program is currently being offered free of charge, though donations are welcome! If you have any questions about this group, or future groups, please reach out to sarah@thetidesarttherapy.ca
